CONFERENCE THEME: HISTORY at the EDGE
First Call for Panels and Papers
The AHA is seeking submissions of:
panels consisting of related papers with a nominated chair
individual papers (20 minute presentation plus 10 minutes for questions).
DEADLINE for submission of abstracts is 28 February 2011
'History at the Edge' invites historians to propose panels and papers that will address methodological and conceptual innovation as well as topics concerned with geographical and cultural peripheries and the transnational circulation of peoples and ideas.
The Conference wants to involve and include all historians who undertake historical research and teaching in Australia, not just those who focus on Australian topics.
Some suggested areas for panels and papers are:
Transnational History
History and Heritage
Settler Societies
Indigenous Histories
The History of Human Rights
Trans-Tasman History
Regional Histories
Teaching and Learning Standards
National History Curricula
Historical Archaeology
Gender History
Religious History
Sports History
Family History including Adoption
This list is suggestive. Papers on a diverse range of topics are welcomed.
