LSE Graduate Seminar in Economic History, Lent Term and 2017 Summer Term
PhD students conducting research in the field of economic history are invited to apply to present at the LSE Graduate Seminar in Economic History. The seminar convenors are presently considering applications for the 2017 Lent Term (January – March) and the 2017 Summer Term (April – June). All applications will be considered for both terms.
The LSE Graduate Seminar in Economic History is intended for the presentation of papers (or chapters) at an advanced stage of research. Papers may address any historical period, region, or theme within economic history, but must constitute a substantial contribution to a scholarly debate within the discipline.
The seminar consists of a presentation of approximately 45 minutes in length, followed by questions and comments. Faculty and PhD students in the Department of Economic History are in regular attendance. Presenters can expect to receive critical and relevant feedback from economic historians with diverse expertise. In advance of the seminar, presenters are expected to submit a full-length draft of the paper for circulation.
A small travel subsidy of up to £75 is available for overseas presenters without recourse to other funds.
Please direct any questions to the seminar convenors.
